TONY MIDDLETON Since joining the doo-wop group the Willows as lead singer in the early 1950s, Middleton has wielded his textured baritone in Broadway musicals and European jazz clubs, and at the Apollo Theater, while collaborating with Burt Bacharach, Smokey Robinson, Cissy Houston and Della Reese. A frequent presence in various New York venues of late, he’ll welcome 2019 with his quartet, featuring the pianist Tadataka Unno, the saxophonist Eric Person, the bassist Jim Cammack and the drummer Dwayne Broadnax, with shows at 9 and 10:30 p.m., the latter including a champagne toast.
