“The harmonic shadings in the music are beautiful and David Weiss contributes some trumpet soloing that could melt your heart…” – Jazz Improv

Jazz trumpeter, arranger and producer David Weiss’s mission has always been to move jazz forward. During the 90’s, he founded The New Jazz Composers Octet, a group dedicated to innovation in jazz. In 2000, Weiss formed a second group, the David Weiss Sextet, to explore new compositional concepts and styles he was developing that did not fit the sound of the octet. In the past few years, Weiss has formed three new ensembles, all quite different and with their own unique sound.
