We are happy to announce that Allan’s new commercial for Price Chopper BBQ just hit televisions across New England, New York and parts of Pennsylvania.  Allan Harris singing the praises of BBQ makes perfect sense considering how much he loves to eat it!   He’s got a list of his favorite spots in NYC, TX, TN, & MO.  But nothing beats grilling at home!  Let us know your favorite BBQ restaurant or favorite BBQ sauce recipe and we’ll share it with world.

Price Copper BBQ
(Schenectady, NY) — Price Chopper has announced the new torchbearers of its annual House of BBQ campaign, who will begin appearing in ads across the company’s six-state footprint today. Allan Harris and Lynn Sterling, two nationally known musical artists, have assumed the role of representing Price Chopper’s popular House of BBQ promotion and will soon have fans singing along to the campaign’s popular jingle, “We’re not cookin’ tonight, we’re grillin’ tonight!”

“We are thrilled to have found two such talented artists to carry the House of BBQ torch for us,” said Mona Golub, Price Chopper vice president of public relations, and consumer & marketing services. “Price Chopper’s House of BBQ has become a tradition here in the Northeast, a launching pad of sorts for the summer grilling season that inspires backyard gatherings and the communal enjoyment of flame-broiled meat, seafood and vegetables.”

Harris is a world-class singer, guitarist and songwriter best known for his interpretations of jazz standards, though his smooth vocals and guitar styling easily cross genres, from jazz to rock to blues. Tony Bennett calls Harris “my favorite singer” and The New York Times’ music critic, Stephen Holden raves about “the protean talent that is Allan Harris.”

Allan will be appearing at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Allen Room next Tuesday and Wednesday: More Than a Song: The Music That Integrated America
Tuesday-Wednesday, May 17-18, 7:30pm
The Allen Room

This concert journeys through the important transition in popular music when white composers like Irving Berlin and George Gershwin brought jazz to Broadway, often introducing African American jazz performers and composers like Fats Waller and Eubie Blake to the American mainstream for the first time. Introduced by Michael Feinstein and featuring Quentin Earl Darrington (Ragtime [2009 Revival]), Allan Harris, Christiane Noll (Jekyll & Hyde), and Karen Ziemba (Contact, Curtains )this unique concert illustrates the role of Broadway as the social engine that created an alliance society could embrace in song if not yet in real life, and will showcase classic songs such as “The Birth of the Blues,” “Ol’ Man River,” and “Harlem on My Mind,” among others.

The Bitter End
Allan will be playing the Bitter End, May 27.  Don’t miss this new show featuring songs from the upcoming new release!
