A double-barreled sax attack forms the front line of this exciting Boston-area quintet. Hailing from Southern Brazil – territory disputed long ago by Spanish and Portuguese colonialists – guitarist/pianist Rodrigo Nassif is considered the national standard of contemporary instrumental music. His unique style blends those twin influences of his homeland, and critics have called it “jazzmilonga,” mixing jazz, folk, rock and classical elements. His first three solo albums earned critical praise and his first quartet record rocketed to the top of Brazil’s ITunes chart.
