BOB STEWART QUARTET
(Bob Stewart, tuba; Jerome Harris, guitar; Matt Wilson, drums; Curtis Stewart, violin)
This ensemble is inspired by the music of Benin and will explore the string tradition through the virtuosity of Jerome Harris and Curtis Stewart. “The music of Benin, like New Orleans, has a strong brass and drum tradition where the Tuba and the Drum are the heart of the ensemble.” Compositions, along with vocals, makes this quartet a very colorful and personal experience.
"Bob Strewart is a great tuba player who solos with flexibility and can walk like a Bass" Tom Piazza, Jazz Magazine
