One of the most outstanding guitarists on the jazz scene today, former Rockland County resident John Hart returns for a rare local appearance to kick off Jazz Week 2017. Among his most significant associations were with Terumasa Hino, Larry Goldings, and particularly Jack McDuff, with whom he toured and recorded. John has also performed with many top jazz artists, including Jimmy Smith, Lou Donaldson, James Moody, Mike Mainieri, and the Maria Schneider Orchestra in addition to leading his own groups.
One of the most esteemed electric guitarists of his generation, Mike Stern has appeared with Miles Davis, Jaco Pastorius, the Brecker Brothers, and Blood, Sweat & Tears, among many others, as well as recording 16 critically acclaimed albums as a leader.
