Audience members will be among the first to hear original compositions from The Heritage Ensemble’s forthcoming album “The Jazz Poems of Grace Schulman” (MEII Enterprises), melodies from the Great American Songbook and several of leader Marlow’s original compositions in their unique sound that melds the melodic & rhythmic commonalities among Jazz, Afro-Caribbean & Brazilian musical cultures.
This ensemble of first-rate musicians includes: Award-winning bandleader/keyboardist Eugene Marlow, 7X Grammy-nominee drummer Bobby Sanabria, award-winning saxophonist Michael Hashim, and electrifying bassist Frank Wagner.
The Heritage Ensemble’s CD “A Not So Silent Night” earned four stars from DownBeat Magazine in December 2017. And the Ensemble’s “Obrigado Brasil!” album was selected as a WBGO premium in the Latin-jazz category during the leading jazz station’s fall 2017 fundraising drive by DJ Awilda Rivera.
