The new reality that musical creatives are facing from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic is certainly unprecedented. In response, Mack Avenue Music Group is gearing up for what they hope will be their most robust and important web event to date – one that directly supports the artists who make the music we all love.
Launching with International Jazz Day on
Thursday, April 30 and extending through
Sunday, May 3, Mack Avenue is launching the
allONE initiative: a webstore event where one hundred percent of all sales from
mackavenue.com will be distributed directly to the label artists.
“Almost everyone I know – musicians, managers, venue owners and booking agents – are facing unemployment or worse for an unknown amount of time,” says Mack Avenue Senior Director of A&R, Will Wakefield. "We are keenly aware of what that means and want to be there to help in whatever way we can and I think this is a good start.”
In the past month, the artist community has seen its income vanish and is unsure when domestic and international touring will resume. The impact on the Mack Avenue family was felt immediately and the organization responded quickly with a donation that kicked off the Jazz Foundation of America’s COVID-19 Musicians’ Emergency Fund.
