Dear Jazz Lover: Thanks to all of you that were at the head of the line purchasing tickets for our upcoming celebration of Jazzmobile founder, Dr. Billy Taylor at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, Monday, November 29 at 7pm. For those of you that have not had a chance to get your tickets, don’t wait until Monday.
We have added 2 new events to celebrate Dr. Taylor’s rare combination of creativity, intelligence, vision, and leadership; qualities that make him one of our most cherished national treasures. In the months leading up to Dr. Taylor’s 90th Birthday, Jazzmobile will honor and illuminate a career that spans nearly six decades with a series of programs that feature emerging, mid-career and established musicians performing select compositions from Dr. Taylor’s over 350 works and a number of dialogues that reveal insights into Dr. Taylor’s brilliance. Our wish is to have a FULL HOUSE for each of these events in support of the work of Jazz pioneer and humanitarian, Dr. Billy Taylor. It shouldn’t be too difficult a task considering the FREE event and the 2 ticketed events are only $10.00. The Schomburg’s capacity is about 340, The Riverside Theatre holds about 250, Temple M will max out at about 100. Easy math, indeed! We can do this, right?
Please PURCHASE YOUR TICKETS TODAY for the Schomburg and Riverside Theatre events and RSVP for the Temple M event and don’t forget to SPREAD THE WORD!!!
