THE GOOD NEWS
Jane Ira Bloom is pleased to announce that she is the recipient of the new Women's Fund for Media, Music and Theatre grant for her new project called “Picturing the Invisible” – a collaborative project with audio engineer Ulrike Schwarz to compose, perform, and record a series of duets & trios with cutting edge woman improvisers inspired by the B & W science photography of American photographer Berenice Abbott. Reflecting the innovative spirit of Abbott¹s photography, Bloom's music will be recorded in high definition surround sound.
"Picturing The Invisible" is made possible with support from The NYC Women¹s
Fund for Media, Music, and Theater by the City of New York¹s Mayor¹s Office
of Media and Entertainment in association with the New York Foundation for
the Arts.
The NYC Women's Fund for Media, Music and Theatre fund is a signature initiative by The Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME) to address the underrepresentation of all who identify as women in the entertainment industries.
Look for Jane’s upcoming podcast on new music that she’s been writing coming soon.
