Now in its 10th year, Straight Ahead Jazz Camp presented by the Jazz Institute of Chicago in collaboration with Columbia College is a jazz-packed, weeklong exploration of topics such as perspectives on composition with MacArthur Fellow Miguel Zenón; the role of technology in contemporary music-making with Nico Segal’s The JuJu Exchange; a first-person perspective on the legendary Miles Davis album Kind of Blue with NEA Jazz Master Jimmy Cobb and a panel discussion on Jazz and Gender with Nicole Mitchell and three-time Grammy Award winner Terri Lyne Carrington.
