Tonight At Cornelia Street

Thu  Aug 12th 8:30PM
THE ZOZIMOS COLLECTIVE – QUARTET
(Ben Stapp, tuba; Sebastian Noelle, guitar; Alex Terrier, saxophones; Danny Fischer, drums)

The Zozimos Collective expands and contrasts in personnel depending on the program and tonight it will feature the group as a quartet. Weaving Messiaen inspired rhythmic drones, 4D – Faux Harmony, aleatoric techniques, and more, Zozimos searches for a musical tincture that will touch even the most hardened New York soul.
Mr. Stapp’s most recent release, and debut CD "Ecstasis," has received a critic’s pic from the NY Times, Honorable Mention in the Village Voice, and was described as a "fresh new voice," and "most certainly to watch" by All About Jazz. Since then he has spent his time developing his language as a composer and tubist with his group the Zozimos Collective.

"Hala Hala stretches the music to it’s primitive, creative, most transcendent essence" Curtis Macdonald

"Kenny Warren is a New York based young and hungry trumpeter whose tone is as rough and tumble as you’ll find" jazzreveiw.com
