Whatever the musical setting—whether solo, duo, trio, quartet, or quintet—pianist Joanne Brackeen’s unique style of playing commands attention. In addition to her captivating and complex improvisations, she has written intricate, rhythmically daring compositions in a wide stylistic range.

Maggie Gould Brazilian Jazz with Full Band + Special Guests

Maggie Gould, vocalist originally from New Zealand returns to Jazz Forum with her fantastic New York band. Music from her CD ToDo Amor – musical director Nanny Assis, with inspiration form Ivan Lins, Chet baker, Gilberto, Jobim. Her music is described as soft sultry vocals with space, her performance has taken tours internationally form jazz festivals to Rome, London New York and LA.

Direct from New Orleans! Donald Harrison Quartet

New Orleans alto saxophonist Donald Harrison first came to prominence as a member of Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers in the early ’80’s, followed by critical acclaim co-leading a group with trumpeter Terence Blanchard that recorded for Columbia Records. Harrison collaborated with Dr. John and others on “Indian Blues” and then innovated a style known as “Nouveau Swing.”


Ray Blue Quartet Feat. Kirk Lightsey

Ray Blue’s music can be described as a fusion of straight ahead jazz and rhythmic groove. Ray is a New York bred saxophonist, composer, arranger and educator who performs internationally. After receiving a graduate degree from the University of Iowa, Ray returned to New York, got re-connected on the scene and studied at the JazzMobile with Charles Davis, Stanton Davis and later with Paul Jeffrey, Charlie Lagond, Sonny Sharrock and Barry Harris.

Jon Faddis Quartet

Jon Faddis is a Grammy Award–nominated jazz trumpet player, conductor, composer and educator. Born in Oakland, California, he began playing the trumpet at age eight, inspired by seeing Louis Armstrong on the Ed Sullivan Show. Faddis has directed several orchestras, including the Grammy-winning United Nation Orchestra and the Jon Faddis Jazz Orchestra of New York.

Featuring Jon Faddis, Trumpet and Leader, Andrew Latona, Guitar, Mikey Migliore, Bass & Rodney Green, Drums.


Legendary Organist Reuben Wilson Trio

B3 great Reuben Wilson comes to Jazz Forum leading a soulful organ trio. His biggest hit was 1975’s “Gotta Get Your Own.” Rediscovered by a new generation, his music became a cornerstone of the acid jazz movement breathing new life into this important artist and he hasn’t slowed down since. Get ready to get your groove on with this master of the Hammond B3 organ.
