Westchester County Schools Music Association
On Friday March 15th the Westchester County Schools Music Association (WCSMA) will be hosting the 2019 High School All County Jazz Concert at Hommocks Middle School (130 Hommocks Road in Larchmont NY) at 7:30pm. The show will feature performances by the best high school Jazz musicians throughout Westchester County.
Over the past 29 years this festival has brought in many fabulous Jazz educators to serve as guest conductors to work with and direct our students. Some of these names include Manny Albam, Mike Holober, David Dempsey, Ralph Lalama, Todd Coolman, and Gary Smulyan. This year’s “A” band guest conductor will be renowned trombonist John Mosca. The “B” band guest conductor will be baritone sax and low reed specialist Brian Landrus. Both programs will showcase a wide variety of styles and celebrate the works of such classic composers as Thad Jones, Duke Ellington and Sammy Nestico. There will also be original big band compositions by guest conductor Brian Landrus. The concert will begin with a performance by the Mamaroneck High School “A” Jazz band under the direction of Mr. Timothy Hooker.
Tickets will be sold at the door and will cost $20 for adults and $5 for students. For any questions and inquiries please do not hesitate to contact us via e-mail at jmullen@wcsma.org. Hope to see you at the concert on March 15th.
