Finding the Lost Clarinetist of King Oliver's Creole Jazz Band

Greetings jazz lovers,

An important and fascinating event is coming up this Wednesday
evening, March 29th at 7:00pm, at Jazz at Lincoln Center.

Finding the Lost Clarinetist of King Oliver's
Creole Jazz Band
A Discographical Panel Discussion hosted by Phil Schaap,
featuring Evan Christopher, Vince Giordano, Al Vollmer, & Dr. Michael White

 ~~~~~
Time Warner Center, Columbus Circle, Broadway at 60th Street, NYC
The Varis Leichtman Studio in Rose Hall, 5th floor
(212) 258-9833 for reservations
This is a gathering of major musicians & scholars, and is a treat not be missed!
And it is free!
There is detailed information on the evening at the link above. I recommend giving
it a read to get a feel for what the night is about.
This is like a Bechet Society family reunion, as well.
Phil Schaap & Dr. Michael White are founding board members.
Evan Christopher & Vince Giordano have played & recorded for SBS
many times over the years. Two of SBS's staunchest supporters.
For those who don't know Al Vollmer, he is a significant jazz preservationist,
the co-founder of The Harlem Blues & Jazz Band. HNJB was started in 1973
by "Doc" Vollmer and King Oliver's trombonist/blues singer, Clyde Bernhardt.
Not even six degrees of separation from the evening's subject matter!!
Come out Wednesday night and get up close to the essence of jazz history!!
