Legendary drummer Winard Harper has been a collaborator with jazz titans including Wycliff Gordon, Betty Carter, and Etta Jones, and continues to mentor a new generation of jazz musicians and listeners. His performances are rich with emotional heat and an inventive mixture of tempos, and audiences around the world have delighted in his spontaneous connection to music and joy.
Newcomers to jazz can dip their toes in the water with Harper’s lively quartet, featuring Houston Person on tenor saxophone. Person is a prolific jazz artist who has transcended genre boundaries of pop, disco, r&b, and gospel and released more than 75 albums.
