Fresh off touring with Wynton Marsalis’s Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Willie Jones III brings his swinging straight ahead quintet to Tarrytown. Having played with a who’s-who of jazz giants (Milt Jackson, Horace Silver and Roy Hargrove among them) and on Arturo Sandoval’s Grammy-winning album, Willie’s own group over the past 20 years specializes in hard bop “finger-poppin’,” he told Downbeat, “That’s what I was raised in. I breathe it.”

Nanny Assis and his vocalist son Daniel embody the joy and happiness of Brazil’s Bahia region, where Nanny was born. A drummer who branched out to become a multi-instrumentalist and composer, his talents and performing charisma made him a top attraction since relocating to New York 20 years ago. Nanny has collaborated with countless jazz luminaries, been named Brazil’s Vocalist of the Year and packed the city’s top clubs.

Not yet 30, Christian Sands is currently one of the most in-demand pianists working in Jazz. Wynton Marsalis named him a “Jazz star of the future,” and he’s enjoyed a position in Christian McBride’s trio for the last several years. He takes a fresh look at the entire language of Jazz: stride, swing, bebop, progressive, fusion, Brazilian and Afro-Cuban.

Brazilian Trumpet & Flugelhorn Master, Claudio Roditi has been valiantly addressing several health challenges, including prostate cancer in recent months and would really appreciate any financial assistance from the music community.
