Charli Persip Needs Our Help!

Charli Persip, now 90, is one of the great drummers in Jazz history. Early in his career he powered Dizzy Gillespie’s big band, also played with Billy Eckstine and led his own Jazz Staesmen record date which featured a very young Freddie Hubbard. Charli has led his SuperBand & SuperSound groups for many years, including for a long residency at the second Jazz Forum in ’82, and a celebrated appearance in our Berkshire Jazz Festival in 2003. Dealing with health challenges for several years, Charli would appreciate any financial help toward his medical expenses.  Please consider contributing what you can to assist this long-time friend, colleague and great Jazz artist.
